The Stars and Jets meet after both went the distance in the last round. For the second consecutive playoffs, the Stars eliminated the Colorado Avalanche. It took Peter DeBoer’s team seven games but powered by Mikko Rantanen’s playoff-leading 12 points, the Stars advanced to the second round for the third consecutive postseason. The Jets narrowly avoided the Presidents’ Trophy curse, forcing overtime and then defeating the Blues in the second overtime period in Game 7. Scoring four goals and adding eight assists, Kyle Connor has kept pace with Rantanen so far, with Neal Pionk and Cole Perfetti each contributing five points in the series.
