Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse doesn’t do “that American-Italian thing,” says owner Steve DiFillippo.
“I’m not against American Italian,” he says, referring to dishes that are overly garlicky, such as giant plates of spaghetti and meatballs. “I grew up that way.” But that’s not the restaurant DiFillippo is opening Thursday in The Colony, next to Nebraska Furniture Mart.
Davio’s is a Northern Italian pasta restaurant that sells steak — a beefy addition that might make this Boston brand feel right at home in Texas. DiFillippo is proud that the pastas are all house-made. Beyond pasta, menu items include halibut with polenta and crab meat lemon butter, and pork chops with spicy cheddar croquettes.
