The Buena Vista Orchestra, presented by SSK Music, is the world’s leading Cuban music repertory ensemble, featuring musicians from the Buena Vista Social Club, AfroCuban All Stars, and bands of legends like Celia Cruz and Omara Portuondo.

Join us as we continue our International Jazz Day celebrations alongside award-winning trumpeter Benny Benack III and the Fun O’Clock Combo. Rooted in community and education, this special evening will feature local music students and friends joining Benny onstage for the second half of the performance.

Prasanna, widely known as Guitar Prasanna, is a globally acclaimed pioneer of performing Carnatic classical music on electric guitar. Trained in the traditional Guru-Shishya system, he has earned major honors, including a Lifetime Achievement Award and IIT Madras’ Distinguished Alumnus Award.

The University of North Texas Jazz Singers is the premier vocal jazz ensemble within the Division of Jazz Studies at the College of Music. Under the direction of Jennifer Barnes, the group features fourteen vocalists and a five-piece rhythm section performing a challenging and diverse repertoire, including works by current students, alumni, and faculty.

The lineup features SSG Melinda Rodriguez on vocals; SSG Clay Pritchard, saxophonist, UNT alum and former Colony resident; SFC Eric Pers, drums, UNT alum; MSG Regan Brough, bass, Denton native; and SFC James Collins, piano.

Join Emilie-Claire Barlow and her stellar band for an enchanting evening of songbook classics, bossa nova, ballads, and French chanson, all reimagined in her signature style. Featuring music from La plus belle saison, her latest project and tribute to Québec, the performance is both intimate and vibrant. Known for her warmth, charm, and onstage chemistry, Barlow creates a truly unforgettable experience.
